Born to two phoenixes, Junhee would have turned out to be a normal phoenix if he wasn’t so strong willed. But life is never that easy, is it?

At a young age, Junhee learned just how much his parents disliked each other. There were countless nights of fighting, both physical and verbal, often times bringing it out on him. Thanks to his healing abilities, though, there weren’t any scars or marks left by the morning so nobody knew what happened behind closed doors. All the other kids saw was the recluse Park Junhee that sat in his corner and silently read his books.

It was those books, though, that educated him and gave him an escape from the reality that he had to dredge himself through everyday. Between the incessant squabbles in his house and the ridiculous rules and guidelines that were taught in school. Why phoenixes had to be so obedient without questioning their orders was something Junhee could never wrap his head around. However, it was impossible for him to not give in to all the morals that were taught to him in school and sometimes at home.

The only place where he didn't have to 'be a phoenix' was under the stars in the field about a mile away from home. He had no friends, as it was, so none of the others in the village were even slightly aware of his whereabouts or even why he ran away so often.
